Abstract

This study aims to analyze the concept of wind as good tidings (busyrā) from the perspective of the Qur'an and to uncover the meanings, functions, and values inherent within it. The research employs a library research method utilizing a thematic exegesis (*tafsir maudhui*) approach. Primary data sources consist of Qur'anic verses regarding wind as good tidings specifically Surah Ar-Rum [30]: 46 while secondary sources include exegetical works, books, journals, theses, and other relevant literature. Data were collected through a literature review and subsequently analyzed by gathering verses related to the theme, examining the interpretations of exegetes, analyzing the meaning and function of wind as good tidings, and drawing conclusions based on the analysis. The findings indicate that wind, when serving as good tidings in the Qur'an, is a sign of Allah SWT’s mercy and greatness. Wind functions by carrying clouds, heralding rainfall, providing benefits for human life, and facilitating human activities such as maritime navigation. From the Qur'anic perspective, wind as busyrā also embodies spiritual values, teaching humans to recognize Allah’s power, compassion, and wisdom in governing the universe. Thus, wind is understood not merely as a natural phenomenon, but also as a sign of Allah’s greatness and a means to cultivate gratitude and faith in Him.
